Itinerary
Day 1 :
MANALI - DARCHA
Our Trek starts from Manali by vehicle transfer to Darcha (LahaulValley). The drive to Darcha is extremely scenic. We first move from Manali to Rohtang Pass.
Rohtang Pass is the famous Pass at the height of 13,600 Ft. this road decendes us into the valley of river chandra and leads us to its confluenece with river Bhaga. The remaining drive is along the river Bhaga. All along the way one can see the views of the Lahaul Villages, Wonderful Waterfalls, High Peaks, Wonderful Glaciers and more.
Day 2 :
DARCHA - PALAMO
This trek starts along the Darcha - Leh Highway and then follows the dirt road the passing two rustic Lahauli Villages. Beyond these villages,the trail narrows down to a stone bridge over the River Jhankar Surndo. Our Campsite at Palamo is in beautiful green meadow.
Approx Trekking Time : 5 Hrs.
Day 3 :
PALAMO - RAMJAK
This day's trekking is comparatively more difficult as it involves a river crossing and a fairly steep climb from the valley of Jhankar Sumdo to the higher bank of Shingo stream which is our next camp site.

Day 4 :
RAMJAK - CHIMIK NAKPO
We continue along the Shingo stream, enjoying the beauty of Alpine Flowers.We camp at Chimik Nakpo.

Day 5 :

CHIMIK NAKPO - LAKONG
We cross our second pass today. The Shingo Pass at 16,000 Ft. is the heightest point of our trek. It is an adventurous walk. We are now at the heart of The Great Himalays, which is surrounded by amid hanging glaciers and unclimbed 20,000 Ft. Peaks.The descent from the Pass to Lakong is steep but well marked. From here we may commonly encounter grazing Yaks.

Day 6 :

LAKONG - GOMPA RINCHEN
Beyond Lakong, the valley widens considerably with the River Kargiakh Chumendering through it. It is the Pleasent Level walk till the base of the Gompa Rinchen Peak which is our next camp site.This camp site is lush green with lovely fresh water springs, set against the backdrop of the Gompa Rinchen Peak.

Day 7 :
GOMPA RINCHEN - KARGIAKH VILLAGE
The flat open valley leading to Kargiakh is a paradise grazing ground for Yaks.Long before one reaches Kargiakh, It is already visible across the wide plain - signes of emerald vegetation which is cultivated by the villagers are visible on the way.Kargiakh is the first village of Zanskar on this route.
Approx Trekking Time : 5 Hrs.
Day 8 :
KARGIAKH VILLAGE - TETHA
On the way to Tetha , We now begin to appreciate the harshness of barren mountains against lush green surroundings. The entire route is well marked. then we cross the River Kargiakh Chu. The village of Tetha is extremely picturesque. Some of the houses here have their private temples and rare Buddhist artifacts and scriptures. We have our came site little below the village which is a rare view.

Day 9 :
TETHA - PURNI
Beyond Tetha, the river valley narrows considerably. The trek routes initia goes high above the river and then descends steeply to the confluence of River Kargiakh Chu and Tsarap Chu. We cross the Kargiakh Chu via wooden Bridge to Purni. Our camp site is close to the river Tsarap Chu.
Approx Trekking Time : 5 Hrs.
Day 10 :
PURNI- PHUCTAL GOMPA - PURNI
A day of leisure in Purni starts our Tour to Phuctal Gompa. Here we find Gigantic Limestone Caves, and there is a spring believed to have waters of healing property.
Approx Trekking Time : 4 Hrs.
Day 11 :
PURNI - PHIBULA
From Purni, the bridge over Kargiakh Chu is recrossed. We then downstream along Tsarap Chu. At last we head towards our camp site.
Approx Trekking Time : 6 Hrs.
Day 12 :
PHIBULA - MUNI GOMPA
We trek along the beutiful views of Tsarap Gorge, The main feature of our trek is the beautiful plateau of Reru Village which offers rare site of Himalayan Poppy Flowers. A man made reservoir can be seen enroute. Muni Gompa dates back to the 15 Century and so historically significant.
Approx Trekking Time : 6 Hrs.
Day 13 :
MUNI GOMPA - PADUM
We pass the Bardan Gompa on the way.We trek along the wild wind plains of Zanskar as We move ahead we approach the town of green trees and healthy vegetation which is Padam, The administration capital of Zanskar, which is also the main market of the region.
Approx Trekking Time : 5 Hrs.
Day 14 :
PADUM - KARCHA GOMPA - PADUM
A day of leisure with the visit to the karcha Gompa. It is the biggest monastery of Zanskar, home of more than 100 monks. This site was founded in 11 century.
Approx Trekking Time : 3 Hrs.
Day 15 :
PADUM - RINGDOM GOMPA
From Padum, we now travel the dirt rough road, enroute we pass through the variety of fascinating villages along the Doda River. Zigzag up till we reaches the Pensila Pass, which is also the base camp for Z1 peak, The interesting thing here is that it is only the motorable basecamp for any major peaks of the world. From the pass we descends to the Sufu Valley to the Ringdom Gompa.
Day 16 :
RINGDOM GOMPA - KARGIL
This is the end of our trek when we return Kargil, The main Battle Place of the 1999 INDO - PAK WAR. Kargil lies on the highway of Srinagar and Leh.
