Tours in India
There are many countries in the world much bigger and in fact, even with greater prosperity, then India. But nowhere does one come across greater diversity, or intensity of lived experience. Even if one is not intent on watching things closely, if a person simply traverses the length and breadth of the country as on a casual stroll as a disinterested spectator, still the person is bound to come under the spell within a day or two. It is often said about India that you may love it or hate it, but you cannot ignore it. Even if you decide to hate it, it will still continue to haunt you and will not leave you in peace until you come back to reconcile things, and then to fall hopelessly in love.
India is a holiday destination par excellence and even if its sights, its sounds and its smells might initially appear abhorring, but with the passage of hardly a few days, these same sensations will be transformed with a divine glow, which shall continue to accompany you at every step, beckoning you to return again, again and again.
Once in India, you can pack up a wide plethora of experiences within a two week jamboree ranging from a high altitude trek, to prospecting for a tiger in a wild life sanctuary, to drawing doodles in the air while cruising through the Kerala backwaters, enjoying a camel safari amidst the sand dunes of Thar Desert, speculate about the royal lovebirds interred under the dome of Taj Mahal and then loll on the sun swept golden beaches of Goa. And this is not all. One can not overlook the charms of that most romantic city called Udaipur, while the millennia old spiritual tradition of Indias glorious civilization stands still on the banks of River Ganga in Varanasi.
Still, all this is hardly a small part of what India has to offer. The wide repertory of traditional, classical and folk music and dances of India is a separate field in itself, which require a lifetime just to get introduced. This music and dance tradition is unique in every part of India and closely corresponds to the various national, regional and local festivals. A study of India’s festivals is yet again a separate stream altogether, as India is celebrating a festival every other day making it almost a never ending carnival. The festivals are closely related to costumes and cuisine and there we go again on a reckless adventure as every single place has its own cuisine and recipe, while talking about costumes will make your head swirl.
